Over 30 years ago, California Commercial Real Estate Services founder George Okita left his real estate finance position to improve the level of service medical property owners and operators received from their real estate management partners. Since California Commercial’s humble beginnings, we have experienced tremendous growth in terms of employees, capabilities and managed square feet.
California Commercial services fourteen counties throughout California and maintains strategic partnerships with brokers, contractors, architects, and service vendors across the nation.
The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY®) Awards is the most prestigious program of its kind in the commercial real estate industry and honors industry leaders in building excellence on the local, regional, national and international level. Each participating building is evaluated on many of the same categories as the BOMA 360 Performance Program®, but only “the best of the best" will earn the prestigious TOBY Award. Under California Commercial's management, Hoag Health Center — Newport Beach received BOMA’s 2010 “The Outstanding Building of the Year” (TOBY) national award and Hoag Health Center – Irvine received BOMA’s 2018 TOBY award on the esteemed international level in the Medical Office Building category.
The highly respected BOMA 360 Performance Program® recognizes commercial properties that demonstrate best practices in building operations and management. Each building up for BOMA 360 designation must meet or exceed six categories of rigorous requirements ranging from Life Safety, Security, and Risk Management to Training and Education for Building Personnel. To date, California Commercial has achieved a 100% success rate obtaining BOMA 360 designation for our clients’ campuses totaling almost 1 million square feet demonstrating the team’s level of commitment to its clients and excellence in property management, including 3 buildings in 2020 alone.
Numerous properties under our management are ENERGY STAR certified and perform better in respect to energy management than 75% or more comparable buildings nationwide. California Commercial is committed to continually improving our management of energy resources, which reduces both operating costs and related forms of pollution.
